The CB.01 marks our first collaboration under the Boldwill brand name. High performance sports sunglasses have traditionally always been made with plastics like TR90 and CR39, making it a real challenge to create a sustainable alternative. Through our search, we found Danish startup ATTAAC, which has been developing alternatives to this. Together with their expertise and both our design elements, we have created a product for true pioneers. Combining a 100% bio-based frame, made through a 3D printing process, with a high performance lens made from 39% wood and agricultural waste, these sports glasses are testament to the innovative spirit of international startups coming together.
The glasses come with both a pouch and cleaning cloth, constructed from our signature 54% TENCEL™ Lyocell and 46% TENCEL™ Modal woven fabric. And skin-friendly, hydrophilic silicone nose pads in three different sizes for a perfect fit.
Frame: 100% bio-based material, derived from castor beans.
Lenses: 39% biomass from wood and agricultural waste, and 61% fossil-based mass, manufactured by ZEISS.
Screws: 100% stainless steel.
Nose pad: 100% silicone.

This product is designed in our headquarters in The Netherlands and produced and assembled by hand in Europe under ethically responsible conditions. The frame is produced in Germany. The lenses are produced in Italy.
Costs and delivery times
Different delivery costs will apply to different countries. These costs will be provided at the checkout. All orders are shipped from The Netherlands. Customs charges may apply to orders shipped outside of the European Union (EU). These charges, such as customs duties, taxes, and fees, are determined by your country's customs policies and regulations. Any of these additional costs are the responsibility of the customer.
The delivery times can be from 1 to 14 days, depending on the country. After you placed your order, you will get an email with your tracking number and estimated delivery time.
Returns and exchanges
Any product can be returned or exchanged up to 14 days after your order has arrived at your address. This can be done through our return portal. After we have received the goods and checked them, we will send you a new product or repay you the amount we owe you within 30 days. Unfortunately, we cannot refund any return costs, and these will be deducted from the repayment.

A ultra flexible and comfortable 30 gram 3D printed frame, derived from castor beans.
The glasses come inside a custom box with both a pouch and cleaning cloth, made from our signature wood based woven fabric. Together with silicone nose pads in three different sizes.
Road to Plastic Free
At this stage, it is not possible to make performance sports sunglasses completely bio-based. While the frame of our glasses is 100% made from castor beans, a renewable, bio-based resource, the lenses still need a form of synthetic material to be produced. ATTAAC has already been able to create the lenses from 39% agricultural waste, which is the highest bio-based content available with our criteria. In the coming years, both ATTAAC and ourselves will be pushing for the 100% mark.

Timeless products
The beginning of the development of each product in our collection begins with the notion of timelessness. All too often, products go in and out of fashion, creating an artificial lifespan of a product. We want to overcome this idea by creating products that can be worn anywhere and anytime.
Incremental progress
We see sustainability and quality not as a checklist, but an ever evolving goal that we set our intentions to. Nothing we make is perfect, but having an open mindset on how things can be improved with new insights and technologies is what we aim to convey through our product development.
Prioritizing health
For every product that we make, we aim to have it as natural and healthy as possible. Finding a balance between performance, sustainability, and health offers a variety of design challenges that we take very seriously. Lots of sportswear use added harmful chemicals like BPA to enhance performance, but we steer clear from these and try to bring out the best that nature itself has to offer.
Homage to nature
One of our goals is to have you feel like you always have a piece of nature with you wherever you go. Of course, the materials that we use for our products are at the basis of this, but also for the colors we use, the fitting and overall design, we use nature as a core inspiration.
